Ronald C. Oler, 77, of Hagerstown, passed away on Wednesday, February 28 at Reid Health.
Ron was born on November 14, 1940 in New Castle, Indiana to Ralph and Allie Cain Oler. He married the former Norma June Gamber on March 9, 1959 to begin a 55-year marriage that was blessed with four sons.
Ron enjoyed a career with Dana Corporation that took him to Georgia, Alabama and Pennsylvania. He retired in 1999 as the Quality Manager at the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania plant. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of Hartley Hills Country Club in Hagerstown. He also enjoyed fishing, taking several trips with his family over the years, playing cards and making puzzles.
Ron will be missed by his sons, Kenny Oler and his wife, Darla; Tim Oler; Doug Oler and his wife, Karen; and Jeff Oler and his wife, Melissa; nine grandchildren: Ashley and her husband Josh, Ryan; Christyna; Samantha and her husband, Kyle; Kayla and her husband, Noah; Jacki; Jason; Nick and Samantha; four great-grandchildren, sisters, Carolyn Oler and Nancy Kidder; brothers, Marlin Oler and Steve Oler, several nieces & nephews and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 55 years, Norma June Gamber Oler, on January 27, 2015.
Rev. Charlie Black will conduct a funeral ceremony at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Greens Fork South Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 12-3 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, at the funeral home.
