Mrs. Rosann E. “Rosie†Rayborn, 72, of Fountain City, passed away Thursday, August 22.
She was born May 29, 1941 in Richmond to Charles Ray and Josephine Elizabeth Phenis Davis. She was a 1959 graduate of Richmond High School. She married Curt Rayborn on January 7, 1960, a union which was blessed with 4 daughters.
Rosann served 38 years as a switchboard operator at Reid Hospital before retirement. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting and shopping but her greatest joy came from the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rosann will be missed by her husband, Curt; daughters Suzanne Raridan and her husband, Gary, of Cambridge City; Nancy Rayborn, of Richmond; Carol Jarvis, of Fountain City; Kathy Gonzalez and her husband, Oscar, of Fountain City; 9 grandsons, 6 great-granddaughters, 2 great-grandsons, 2 sisters, Nancy Moore, of Florida and Jenny House and her husband, Melvin, of Richmond; 1 brother John “Skeeter†Davis and his wife, Pam, of Richmond; her mother-in-law, Flora Clarice Rayborn, of Jackson, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
Rosann was preceded in death by her parents, 1 grandson, Paul Crowe; and her father-in-law, Dalton Rayborn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, in St. Mary Catholic Church, 710 North A Street, Richmond. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, August 26, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. The Rosary will be prayed at 8:00 p.m.
