Rosella Murphy, 81, passed away on Wednesday, August 31 at Reid Hospital.
She was born September 27, 1929 in Richmond, Indiana to Frank and Henrietta Lee Scheibler. She married Patrick F. Murphy III on January 28, 1954. She was formerly employed at Alcoa and Richmond Baking Company and was a homemaker. She loved people and animals and enjoyed reading, gardening and playing Bingo.
Mrs. Murphy will be missed by her husband of 57 years, Patrick Murphy III; daughters, Rose Murphy, of Bethel; Janet White and her husband, Robert, of Lynn; Christine Burt and her husband, Michael, of Fountain City; Julie Murphy, of Richmond; son, Patrick F. “Frank” Murphy IV, of Austin, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Stephanie, Patrick V, Travis, Amanda, Jacob, Heather, Jared, Michael, Ashley and Stormie; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, June Scheibler, of Richmond; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted by John Dice at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 3, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 3, at the funeral home.
