Sara Rogers, 45, of Lynn, passed away on Sunday, March 22.
Sara was born in Richmond, Indiana on July 15, 1980, the daughter of Robert E. Sr. & Rebecca L. Bolich Ward. She graduated from Randolph Southern High School in 1999. She entered a trade apprenticeship with Laborers Local 534. She was currently employed by Pipeliners Union Local 798 as a Welder Helper. Sara was the first female to speak around the country about women in the trades. She was involved in advocating for women to get into trades, especially pipeline. In 2024, Sara was one of a select few to share the stage and shake hands with President Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania. Sara had a loving heart. She loved being outdoors, swimming and sun tanning. She loved nature and everything that came with it. Rain, sunshine, snow, she loved it all.
Sara was a hard worker. Most people said she was the hardest worker they’d met. She was independent, strong, loving and caring.
Sara loved her boys and her parents more than life itself. She always told Keagun and Kallun, “I live for you two boys.”
Sara will be missed by her sons, Keagun Rogers and Kallun Ward; her parents, Robert E. Sr. & Rebecca Ward; brothers, Josh (Valerie) Ward, Daniel Ward, Matt (Stacy) Ward, Andrew (Shana) Ward; step-sisters, Marsha (Steve) Kirtley and Sherri Ross; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Sara was preceded in death by her infant sister, Holly Ann Ward; and brother, Robert E. “Bruiser” Ward, Jr.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27 at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery in Fountain City.
Family & friends may gather from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, at the funeral home.
