Sarah Jane Latello

d. May 8, 2026

Lynn, Indiana

In loving memory of Sarah Jane (Coe) Latello, who departed this world on May 8, 2026.

Born on May 30, 1974, in Seymour, Indiana, to Paul M. Coe and Judy M. (Farlee) Coe, Sarah lived a life defined by compassion, faith, laughter, and selfless love for others. She was a devoted member of Compass Church and approached life with a joyful spirit that made people feel welcome, valued, and truly seen.

Sarah had a heart for helping people from the time she was a little girl. Even as a child, she would ask to give her Christmas gifts to children who had less than she did. That compassion followed her throughout her life and shaped the way she cared for everyone around her. Before marrying Chris, Sarah worked in healthcare, where she naturally formed deep connections with those she cared for. She later continued serving others through foster care, mission trips, volunteer work, and adoption, opening her home and heart to children and families in need.

Sarah had a remarkable ability to see worth in people others often overlooked. She treated every person with dignity, kindness, and empathy, regardless of their circumstances. Caring for others was not something Sarah simply talked about — it was who she was.

She was also full of joy and adventure. Sarah loved traveling, pottery, flowers (especially dahlias), laughter, and creating memories with the people she loved. She visited 44 states during her lifetime and had an unmistakable giggle that friends and family will forever remember. Whether she was sharing stories, making others laugh, or simply enjoying a quiet cup of coffee, Sarah made life feel warm and real to the people around her.

Above all else, Sarah loved her family deeply. She was endlessly proud of her children and all they accomplished. Her son Torry, who preceded her in death, held a deeply special place in her heart, and she loved him with fierce devotion through every challenge.

Even during her difficult battle with leukemia following her diagnosis in late 2024, Sarah continued to focus on others before herself. She thanked every healthcare worker who cared for her and formed genuine friendships with many of them. Through every hardship, she carried herself with grace, gratitude, humor, and dignity.

Sarah is survived by her loving husband, Chris M. Latello, whom she married on October 3, 1998; her children Amaya Latello, Paige Latello, and Jaxson Latello; her parents Paul and Judy Coe; her brother Nathan (Shannon) Coe; her sisters Christy (Donnie) Mansfield and Charity (Bradley) Keefer; her mother-in-law Diane Wagner; her father-in-law Mark Latello; her brother-in-law Anthony (Nanci) Latello; her sister-in-law Lisa (Glenn) Hendrix; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and countless people whose lives were touched by her kindness and love.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Torry Latello, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
