Steve Clark

Mr. Steven Boyd Clark, 71, of Fountain City, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, February 5.

Steve was born on August 3, 1954, and was the son of Boyd and Ceinwen Phelps Clark. He was a 1972 graduate of Northeastern High School and a 1973 graduate of the Nashville Auto & Welding School.

Steve was a faithful member of the Williamsburg Friends Church. He was always community-minded and had just begun his eighth year of service on the Fountain City Town Board. He also served on the board of the Northeast Wayne County Fire Territory Board. Several years ago, Steve designed and welded the wrought iron gate at the entrance to Willow Grove Cemetery.

Steve retired from Richmond Power & Light after 40 years of service. He devoted much of his time restoring Allis-Chalmers tractors and attending tractor shows and events. He was involved with the Indiana Association of Tractor Pullers as a sled operator and puller.

Steve will be missed by his sister & brother-in-law, Jaynee & Steve Strycker; nephew, A.J. Strycker; and aunts, an uncle, and cousins.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd & Ceinwen Phelps Clark; maternal grandparents, Carl & Mary Phelps, and paternal grandparents, Filbert & Lois Clark.

A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 15 at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery in Fountain City.

Family & friends may gather from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, at the funeral home.
