Susan Meyer

Susan Kay Meyer, 76, of Lynn, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026, following a short illness. She was born on April 10, 1949, in Rockford, Illinois, to the late Reay and Gladys Richards.

In 1973, she earned her commercial driver’s license and drove a semi-truck throughout the United States and into Canada. She married James P. Meyer on December 7, 1994. Together, they later owned and operated a trucking business, driving as a team until her retirement in 2013.

Susan’s favorite hobby was riding her motorcycle. She once made a solo trip to California and back on her bike. She also participated in many charity rides and poker runs and was a longtime member of the A.B.A.T.E. Motorcycle Club.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 31 years, Jim; daughter, Chrys Bond of Lynn; step-son, PJ Meyer of South Dakota; grandchildren, LeAnne (Shane) Slick of Fountain City, Jon Keister and Chris Keister, both of Lynn, and Dara Bond (Shane Harris) of Richmond; great-grandchildren, Conner and Bailee Slick; sister, Bonnie (Paul) Kane of Minnesota; brother, Fred (Laurie) Richards of Ohio; many nieces and nephews; and longtime family friend, Chuck Shepherd of Union City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Nancy Greenberg.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
