Susan Fay âSueâ Cones, 51, of New Paris, formerly of Fountain City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 3, at her residence.
She was born on September 6, 1964 in Richmond to Douglas and Edith Lybarger Nichols. Sue grew up in Fountain City and was a 1982 graduate of Northeastern High School. She married Paul Cones on October 10, 1987. They were blessed with two sons and 28 years of marriage. Sue worked in retail for many years, including 15 years at Wal-Mart. She enjoyed photography and had turned it into a business at one time in her life. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading, doing paranormal investigations, and the company of her many feline friends over the years.
Sue will be missed by her husband, Paul; mother, Edith Nichols; sons, Brandon Cones and Devin Cones; sisters, Helen Nichols, Arline Fullerton and her husband, Al; and Sandy Collier and her husband, Darren; brother, Troy Nichols; brother-in-law, Craig Owens and his wife, Paula; and several nieces & nephews.
Sue was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Nichols; brother, Bryan âBeanâ Nichols; sister, Cindy Owens; and nephews, Christopher Fullerton and Cody James Cones.
Sueâs life will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 8, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, at the funeral home.
