   Mr. Thomas W. Brown, 87, formerly of Whitewater, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 1.

   Tom was born in Appalachia, Virginia on April 10, 1935 to Lawrence James, Sr. & Ethel Louise Reed Brown. He was united in marriage to the former Norma Jean Cross on July 2, 1958. They were blessed with three children and nearly 58 years of marriage before Norma’s death on May 20, 2016.

   Tom formerly worked at Avco before taking a job at the Richmond State Hospital, from where he retired. He was a faithful member of the Whitewater Christian Church. Tom loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also an avid IU Basketball and Cincinnati Reds fan.  

   Tom will be missed by his sons & daughters-in-law, Randy & Chris Brown and Roger & Jody Brown; daughter, Beth Brown-Sebert (Doug Mull); grandchildren, Lindsey (Jeremy) Rust, Matt (Brooke) Brown, Libby (Jowann) Siders, Willie (Jenny) Brown and Faith Sebert (Kyle Parrett); great-grandchildren, Charlie Rust, Archie Rust, Alice Rust, Nolan Brown, Aria Mulada, Anya Mulada; step-great-grandchildren, Carter Wright, Abel Parrett and Kinsley Parrett; brother, Joe Brown; sisters, Glenda (Merrill) Nicholson, Shirley (Larry) Berry, Teresa (David) Sebert, Jan Statzer and Sarah Brown and several nieces & nephews.

   Tom was preceded in death by his wife; sisters, Sonia Hayes and Doris Brown; and brothers, Bennie Brown, Jack Brown and Lawrence James “LJ” Brown.

   Pastor Randy Nash will conduct a funeral ceremony at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, at the Whitewater Christian Church, 7918 North State Road 227. Interment will follow in Goshen Cemetery.

   Family and friends may gather for visitation from 1-2:30 p.m.  on Wednesday, April 5, at the church.
