Travis Lee Mayberry, aged 46, left this earth much too soon on Sunday, April 27, 2025 with his children Silas and Cecelia, his beloved wife Ambyr and his brother Rodney at his side.
Travis was born February 3, 1979 to Philip R. & Sharon S. (Petry) Mayberry. He was lucky to be born with two older brothers, Rodney (Regina) & Calvin Mayberry and then his nephew Calvin “CJ” Mayberry.
Travis was a Northeastern High School Graduate of 1997 and a 2002 Purdue University graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a few years later added a second Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering. While at Purdue in 2000 he met his wife Ambyr (Lucas) Mayberry and they moved to Fountain City, IN where they bought their home and had their children, Silas in 2010 and Cecelia in 2014. He would tell you that they were his everything and he took to being the best dad and friend to the kids that he could be.
Travis was passionate about his hobbies which started with his love for all things music, guitars, & concerts and definitely passed on that connection to their kids. He was a hands on guy loved to buy and fix up motorcycles, specifically Triumph & BSA. He enjoyed antiquing and collecting things of eras gone by.
Travis didn’t hesitate to be himself even if it wasn’t mainstream popular. He would do anything for those in his world and would take the time to make others happy. He was an amazing soul that is leaving a huge void in this world to his family, friends, co-workers, and acquaintances within his hobbies.
He is preceded in death by his father Philip and brother Calvin Mayberry, grand-parents Ina Mae & Melbourne Petry and grand-parents Lewis & Viola Mayberry.
Services to celebrate Travis’ life will be Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the Smith McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home in Fountain City, IN. Calling hours will be 1-4 with a service to pay final respects at 4pm. The family asks that you wear your favorite band/concert or motorcycle t-shirts with jeans as that was his go-to style.
