Treva Holecheck

March 27, 1919 — June 25, 2008

Mrs. Treva E. "Toots" Holecheck, 89, of Richmond, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at her residence in the presence of her family.


She was born in Wayne County, Indiana on March 27, 1919 to Roscoe and Ruby Pearl Paxton Burge. She was united in marriage on August 3, 1935 to William "Bill" Holecheck. She was a homemaker and farm wife and formerly co-owned and operated Holecheck's Station on Arba Pike. She had also formerly worked for the telephone company and at J.C. Penney. Mrs. Holecheck enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre. She had bowled in area leagues and enjoyed all types of dancing. She enjoyed sewing and quilting and will also be remembered for her whistling.


Mrs. Holecheck will be missed by her husband of 72 years, Bill, of Richmond; 5 daughters, Barbara and Richard Pegg, of Winchester; Nancy and Albert Hill, of Langhorne, Pennsylvania; Judi and Jay Price, of Lynn; Sandy and George Haskett, of Richmond and Sharon Hummel, of Mooresville; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, 1 sister, Betty Galaviz, of Centerville.


Mrs. Holecheck was preceded in death by her parents; 1 grandson, Tim Sadler; 1 great-granddaughter, Nikki Hart and 1 sister, Florence Burns.


A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Rev. Phillip Hodgkin at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 30, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Goshen Cemetery.


Family and friends may gather for visitation from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, at the funeral home.
