Vickie Jo Ruble Gray-Woodard, 58, of Fountain City, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, September 2, while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on September 9, 1955 in Randolph County, Indiana to Joseph R. and Ruby Ethel Necessary Ruble. She graduated from Northeastern High School in 1973.
Vickie was married to Daryl Gray on January 14, 1973. They shared 26 years of marriage until his death on November 13, 1999. She married Bob Woodard on October 23, 2010.
Vickie was a homemaker who formerly worked at Quaker Hill Bookstore for several years. She was also a substitute teacher at Northeastern High School for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed quilting, reading and growing flowers in her garden. Vickie worshiped at the former New Garden Friends Meeting until its closure, when she joined the Fountain City Wesleyan Church.
Vickie will be missed by her husband, Bob; daughters & sons-in-law, Carrie Jo & Tony Ingalls and Betsy &Brian Beckman ; sons & daughters-in-law, Zach & Brandi Gray and Brandon & Jerilyn Gray; step-son, Ben Woodard; grandchildren, Jaycee, Lauryn, Ezra, Wesley, Payton, Ava, Allancen and Jackson; 1 great-grandchild, Harper; sisters, Priscilla Klosterman; Jeanette Railsback and her husband, Paul; Lea Sokol and her husband, Steve; brother, Bill Ruble; and several nieces, nephews and cousins..
Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Daryl Gray; and brother-in-law, Jim Klosterman.
Pastor David Anderson will conduct a funeral ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5, at The Historic Meeting House at New Garden, 1334 New Garden Road, Fountain City. Interment will follow in New Garden Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City.
Vickie requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Northeastern Elementary School, 534 West Wallace Road, Fountain City, IN 47341.
