William "Bill" R. Norman, Jr.

   Mr. William “Bill” Richard Norman, Jr., 73, of Fountain City, passed away on Tuesday, February 11.

   He was born in Wayne County, Indiana on March 26, 1946 to William Richard "Dick", Sr. and Antoinette Elizabeth “Toni” Delucio Norman.

   Bill was a 1965 graduate of Randolph Southern High School. He was retired after a long career with GTE and Verizon. He liked spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren and teaching them new things He also enjoyed deer hunting, growing roses and growing tomatoes.

   Bill will be missed by his daughters, Stephanie Parks & her husband, Johnny; Stacey Shirley; son, Joe Norman & his wife, LeaAnn; nine grandchildren, Johnathon (Britt), Kylie (Travis) Kadey, Justin (Emily), Kelly (Doug), Erin (Zay), Noah, Megan and Addie; eight great-grandchildren, Trippton, Anistyn, Elsie, Dralyn, Calvin, Bailey, Lorali and Zion.

   Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 50 years, Susan Kay Petersime Norman, son, James Richard Norman.

   At Bill’s request, no services are planned.

I worked with Bill for many years at GTE. He was one of the hardest workers and nicest guys and I always enjoyed working with him. Prayers for the family.

I am so sorry to hear this!!! He was always so nice to me and I enjoyed talking with him when he came into the Marathon!
